About our prints
To create our designs, we start each project by finding the best geospatial data available for the location, using authoritative sources. Then we convert the data into a format suitable for artwork and choose the contour interval based on what looks best in our opinion. Minimal editing may be applied to ensure an appealing aesthetic while retaining the precise and unique spirit of each landscape.
All of our sizes are industry-standard to make framing easy! The dimensions in the dropdown menu on our product pages refer to the entire sheet or page, including the white border. We incorporate a white border in many of our prints to provide the look of a mat and to have space for text. We offer most prints in both vertical and horizontal orientations.
Computers are often calibrated differently, so what you see on your screen may vary slightly from what you see in person. Computer screens are also lit from behind, which can sometimes give a different sense of brightness to an image. We do our best to accurately represent our products. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to send us a note.
We do not usually offer digital files in order to protect our designs and copyrights, but if this is for commercial use and you're interested in licensing, we'd be happy to explore that option with you. If so, please send us a note with some more information about your project and intended use!
Customize your map art
Yes! Don't see your desired location available in our shop yet? Order a custom topographic print, and we'll be happy to make it for you from scratch. If it's a well-loved place that others are also likely to enjoy, this may be possible at no extra charge! Send us a note if you'd like to chat about your ideas.
We aim to be comprehensive in the questions we ask to make sure your design matches your vision the first time you see a finished product from us. However, we understand that sometimes changes are necessary, so one round of minor adjustments is on the house! For further or more elaborate changes, an additional charge may apply. Please note that if you change your mind completely and want to cancel your order after custom design work has already been done, your order will not be eligible for a refund.
Yes! We are happy to help you commemorate a date, add names to a gift, or get creative with a line of personalized text at the bottom of any print! We are happy to provide this service for no additional cost if you add it to your cart along with your print of choice. PLEASE NOTE: You will not receive a proof, so please make sure to enter your desired text exactly as you would like it written. Do not include quotation marks or other punctuation unless you would like them included on your print.
Yes! We are happy to help you highlight a spot on the map that is meaningful to you with a custom location marker! We recommend a simple black circle, triangle, or heart. Add it to your cart along with your print of choice. PLEASE NOTE: You will receive a proof via email before printing, and printing will not proceed without your approval.
Perhaps you have a frame you love that's meant for a size that's not one of our standards, or you're looking for a perfect fit for a spot on your wall. We can do that! Send us a note with what you're looking for, and we'll get back to you with a price quote.

Elissa has a degree in studio art and over a decade of experience doing cartography in various forms. Her husband Nate has been working as a GIS analyst for over a decade. You'll receive an order confirmation email within a few minutes. If you don't see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder! We'll then get your order into our production queue as soon as possible. Paper prints 13"x19" and smaller are produced and shipped by Elissa at her home studio. Framed, canvas, and paper prints 16"x20" and larger are produced and shipped by our partner business who builds our frames in-house. Your order may ship as soon as the very next day, but please see below for our standard shipping timelines. When your order ships, we'll email you a shipping confirmation including a tracking number.
If you wish to change your order or shipping information or cancel it altogether, please contact us as soon as possible. In order to provide the absolute best service, we ship orders as soon as we can, sometimes even the same day they're placed. If your order gets into our printing queue or ships before we receive your change or cancellation request, unfortunately we will not be able to modify or refund your order. Please note that if you want to cancel a custom design order after custom design work has already been done, your order will not be eligible for a refund.

Shipping & returns
Your order will be custom-made just for you! Our current production time is 1-5 business days. You'll receive a shipment confirmation email along with a tracking number once your order has shipped. In the continental US, delivery time is typically 1-5 business days from date of shipment, barring any unusual delays related to inclement weather or other unavoidable setbacks encountered while your package is in transit. Please see below if you need your order sooner than described.
We will do our absolute best to ship your order as soon as possible - please see above for our current timeframes. We are not able to guarantee delivery dates for our standard shipping options, as once your package leaves our hands it is no longer in our control. If you'd like a price quote for guaranteed or expedited shipping, please contact us with the size and materials you're considering for your order and your deadline.
Paper prints 11"x14" and smaller are shipped flat in recyclable rigid mailing envelopes. Larger paper prints are shipped rolled in cardboard mailing tubes. Framed and canvas prints are meticulously cushioned and shipped in boxes.
All paper prints 13"x19" and smaller will ship via USPS. Framed, canvas, and paper prints 16"x20" and larger may be shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on which is most effective. Please contact us if you have issues with a particular carrier delivering to your address so we can handle your order appropriately.
- Check with housemates/neighbors to make sure your package wasn't brought in by someone else.
- Follow up with your local post office, if your package was shipped via USPS.
- Give it a few days, as sometimes packages are accidentally marked as delivered a day or two early.
In the rare instance that your order is damaged in transit or arrives in an otherwise imperfect state, or you receive an incorrect item, please hold on to the item, as well as the original packaging. Please contact us within 10 days of the delivery date. Include photos of the item itself, and if your item arrived damaged, also include photos of the packaging. We will work to make things right as soon as possible!
No problem! As soon as we receive the original package, we'll get your order sent back out to you right away. If your package was unclaimed or the address you provided was incorrect, a reshipment fee may apply, which will need to be paid before we reship.
Your order will be custom-made just for you! Since we offer so many designs, sizes, and customization options, we do not keep any inventory in stock. All prints are therefore final sale. If your order arrives damaged, which happens very rarely, please do let us know right away so we can get a replacement out to you as soon as possible.
